Energy Academy

Cookie Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

This policy explains how Energy Academy uses cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage). For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Policy.

What these technologies are

Cookies and local storage are small pieces of information saved in your browser. Some are strictly necessaryto run a website and don't require consent under UK rules (PECR). Others — like analytics or advertising — are non-essential and only load if you agree to them.

What we use today

We only use strictly-necessary storage:

NameTypePurposeRetention
supabase auth tokenLocal storage (necessary)Keeps you signed in to your account.Until you sign out / it expires
cookie-consentLocal storage (necessary)Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again.Until you clear it
energy:quiz / energy:audit / energy:diagLocal storage (functional)Saves your in-progress quiz and capstone answers on this device so leaving the page doesn't lose your place. Never sent to us.Until you clear it

Analytics (consent-gated)

If, and only if, you select Accept all in our cookie banner, we load Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which content is useful. It is deliberately privacy-light: it sets no cookies, does not store your IP address, and identifies neither you nor your device across sites; requests go to this site's own domain. If you select Reject non-essential (or make no choice), it never loads. We do not use advertising or any other non-essential cookies, and if that ever changes we will list them here first.

Managing your choice

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time: . You can also block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, though the Service may not work properly without the strictly-necessary items above.
