The most efficient large cooling plants reject their heat into water, not air, and the reason is the single principle this course keeps returning to: temperature lift. A wet cooling tower can hand the condenser water cooler than the summer air an air-cooled machine must fight, and every degree shaved off the condensing side is compressor work avoided. This lesson covers the water-cooled chiller arrangement, why evaporative rejection wins degrees, and the maintenance duties (including legionella control) that come with the win.
