Energy-Optimised Control Strategies

Setpoint reset, demand-reset, occupancy-based, economiser logic, load sequencing.

Once a Building Management System is scheduling plant to occupancy, the next layer of saving comes from strategies that continuously adjust setpoints to match real demand rather than holding fixed values chosen for the worst case. These strategies cost little more than configuration time, because the sensors and controllers are already installed, and they are among the highest-return interventions an energy manager can make. This closing lesson covers the four that matter most: setpoint reset, demand-based control, occupancy control, and load sequencing.
