Almost every automatic control in a building works on one idea: measure what is actually happening, compare it to what you want, and adjust until the two agree. That loop, running continuously, is what holds a room at temperature, a duct at pressure, or a tank at level, and understanding it is the foundation for every energy-saving control strategy in this course. Controls that waste energy almost always turn out to be feedback loops behaving badly, so this lesson starts with how a good one behaves.
