Good maintenance does not happen by accident. It needs a structured plan: knowing what equipment you have, what each item needs, when, and at what cost. Without that structure, maintenance slips whenever people are busy, and the efficiency losses the previous lesson described creep back in. This lesson covers building the plan: the asset register, prioritisation, tasks and intervals, scheduling, budgeting, and the CMMS that holds it all together.

In this lesson

  • 01Start with an asset register
  • 02Prioritise by criticality and energy
  • 03Define tasks, intervals, schedule and budget
  • 04Use a CMMS, and keep the plan alive
  • 05Sources and further reading
