Good pipe insulation is as much about installation quality as material choice. Poorly fitted lagging underperforms, lets in moisture, and falls apart, wasting the whole investment, and the single most common defect is not a material failure at all but insulation removed for a repair and never put back. This lesson covers fitting the sections, handling awkward fittings with removable jackets, protecting exposed runs, and the maintenance discipline that keeps the savings from bleeding away over the years.
