In an insulated building, the weak points are the bridges, the places where heat sidesteps the insulation through a more conductive path or a geometric corner. This lesson looks at thermal bridges from the insulation-craft angle: what makes them form, why insulating the main surfaces can make them worse, and the detailing that designs them out. The buildings-and-envelope course covers the whole-building context and the condensation standards; here the focus is on keeping the insulation layer itself continuous.
